This section is intended to assist everyone in saving money on groceries. The goal is to create a list of grocery staples. I feel it should only be food items. The list will include item, best price and the store with the best price. We intend to provide it as a spreadsheet of some sort.

There may be legal issues with such a document being public info. It may be better to have it available to site members only.

We can start off with a tiny list to get us going:

1 Gallon Filtered Water
1 Gallon Whole Milk
1 Gallon Skim Milk
1 Pound Frozen Ground Beef
1 Pound Frozen Ground Turkey
4 Pounds Navel Oranges

You get the idea. This project requires 2 important tasks. One is to provide the items you feel you need the most to sustain your family. We should limit the list to 75 items. We will need to edit the list over time, but that should quickly show what the best stores are for our needs.

The other task is to provide me with valid data to fill the list. None of us shop at every store, so we need every one to participate. Nobody needs to do the entire list. We just need to divide and conquer. Ad prices may be included, but we may wish to label them as such. When we are done, everyone can download a list which will provide valuable information to all.

This project is a very clear example of how this website will work. We are working together to make a powerful tool for all.
