Angel Food Ministries Review III, Part A

Joseph Kexel's picture

Okay, I have ordered (CASH) from Angel Food. I have received my order in a very organized way. Now, I have to discuss the most important part, the food.

So far, I have not had the time to figure out a comparative analysis of the cost of the food purchased, but I have consumed some of the food.

First, I will discuss the initial impression of the food. The frozen items were frozen, which is a very important point. Of the frozen foods, I found the OJ concentrate to be from TJ Farms, which is a brand found at Woodman's that I have used in the past and is a great value.

Another frozen food that has been tried is the No Name green beans. I capitalize that for it really is a no name product. It, in fact, is simply frozen green beans in a clear bag. They were delicious.

Part of the order was a 11 lb chicken breast box. It tasted fine. It was a bit dry, but I think that was from over grilling. I will report back after I cook the breasts myself. I think the nuclear holocaust that is my wife at the grill is not a fair test of those chicken breasts. They came completely frozen and looked great.

The produce we received was limited, but the onions and the potatoes were excellent. The potatoes were Dole brand and I had them with a meatloaf. The whole family found them to very satisfactory.

Or, as I would describe, "Awesome."

The dozen eggs were fine, though I prefer large over medium sized eggs. The ham slices came frozen and appeared to be a regular grade of sandwich meat.

I thought the canned pears looked very interesting for they were packed in juice, not corn syrup.

I hope to have the frozen pork chops and sweet potatoes this weekend.

The only thing I have not tested that I feel needs to be reviewed is the turkey patties. That is a processed product that not everyone may find to be a great value.

The next part of this review will be a final round up on the quality and quick evaluation on the value of the package.
